Huber
“Hugo” Gruner Veltliner 2007 . . . .
.
8.99
87/100 - Our score.
A combination of both citrus and tropical fruits in
the nose with a solid core of mineral. Crisp and flavorful with flavors
of lemon/lime, apple and pineapple. Summer sippin’ season may
be over but this is still a great wine to serve with
seafood and salad courses. (Austria)

Hayman & Hill
Interchange 2006 . . . .
.
9.79
88/100 - Our score.
A white blend from this Santa Barbara producer
that is 47% Chardonnay, 34% Sauvignon Blanc,
7% Muscat, 5% Malvasia Bianca, 4% Semillon and
3% Gewurztraminer. We have seen numerous
domestic white blends trying to jump on the
Conundrum bandwagon, some are very good and
some not so good. Hayman Hill has hit a
homerun with the Interchange. It has just the
right amount of aromatic grape varieties to go with
the healthy doses of Chardonnay and Sauvignon
Blanc. Semi-dry with tropical fruit aromas. In the
mouth it is all apples, peaches and apricots. It may not have
the all of the texture of Conundrum, but, heck, it is less than
half the price! (California) |
Willow Crest
Riesling 2007 . . . .
.
9.99
88/100 - Our score.
A beautifully aromatic dry Riesling with white
flowers, pineapple and tangerine in the bouquet. The dry fruit flavors
cover the palate and it finishes up with a long-lasting lemony flavor.

Au Bon Climat
Pinot Gris /Pinot Blanc 2007 . . . .
.
13.99
89/100 - Our score.
The addition of 20% Pinot Blanc adds a pleasant
crispness to the usually ripe and round Pinot Gris. Bright flavors
of apple and melon that turn slightly creamy on the palate. Crisp
lemony finish. Yum. (California)
Thurston Wolfe
“PGV” 2007 . . . .
.
14.99
89/100 - Our score.
Here is a tasty blend of 52% Viognier, 43% Pinot Gris
and 5% Muscat Blanc. The 2007 PGV from Thurston Wolfe
should technically be called PGVM with the addition of 5%
Muscat Blanc. This is flavorful juice with the peachy, honeysuckle
character of Viognier; apple, melon and peach of Pinot Gris; and
the added perfume of Muscat. Rich mouthfeel with gorgeous fruit
expression and a long tasty finish. (Washington)
Chateau Ste. Michelle
“Eroica”
Riesling 2007
. . . . . 19.99
91/100 - Our score.
91/100 - Wine Advocate.
95/100 - Connoisseur’s Guide. “Taking its accustomed
place at the head of the class as it has in so many
past vintages, this latest rendition from Chateau Ste.
Michelle and Ernst Loosen is a remarkable wine of
impeccable balance and stunning depth. Slightly
sweet and buoyed by fine fruity acids, it smells of
honeysuckle, white peaches and minerals and follows
with long, compact, layered flavors that presently only
hint at the richness to come. Top-notch Riesling is
capable of great beauty and complexity with age, and, we have
no doubt that the greatness lurking here will gradually
become more and more evident with time.”
